High-quality diesel fuel is an environmentally friendly and safe material that ensures maximum performance of engines and equipment. It is mainly consumed by freight transport, railway, water and agricultural producers. Although, recently, diesel is in great demand among ordinary car enthusiasts. Russia produces twice as much (about 78 million tons per year) than the country needs, and therefore half of the volume is exported.
The main indicator of high-quality diesel fuel is the cetane number, i.e. flammability. According to the standards of Russia and most European countries, it should be at 51. The indicator is higher or lower - and the engine is unstable. On average, Russian fuel is produced with a cetane number of 45-48. To adjust the indicators and improve the quality of diesel fuel, it is customary to use additives - cetane-increasing, depressant-dispersing, lubricating and others. Particular attention should be paid to cetane-enhancing additives.
They are so widespread due to their favorable effect on diesel fuel and the car as a whole: successful engine start-up at low temperatures, greater environmental friendliness (emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere is significantly reduced) and quiet operation compared to operating on fuel with a lower cetane index...
The choice of cetane-enhancing additives around the world is huge, but does each one really do its job well? Unfortunately, there are manufacturers who, buying samples from somewhere, simply change their names, passing off as their own production. Receiving them, technologists of oil refineries spend a lot of time on testing, selection, product introduction. It is much better and more convenient if verified and filtered information comes in immediately.
There are not many companies on the market today that take on the solution to this problem. One of them is the Oduvanchik company, which has in its arsenal of qualified employees, the necessary equipment and a library for the selection of diesel additives. Based on the task, a forecast is made, and already upon receipt of the samples, the exact dosages are calculated, laboratory tests are carried out, and the customer is issued the finished product. The technologist does not have to do the selection himself and waste precious time.
By the way, it does not always turn out that a component of a foreign additive works perfectly. Based on experience, it is necessary to create a mixture of components and see how they complement each other. Having such recipes, you can somehow call yourself a manufacturer.
These words are confirmed by the cetane improving additive 2-EHN SIBERIA® 99.5%. When 0.6% of the additive is added to diesel fuel, the cetane number rises from 48 units to 57.8.
Its popularity is due to a number of advantages:
- SIBERIA® is interchangeable with foreign additives;
- used in a package with antiwear and depressant-dispersant additives with full preservation of the characteristics of diesel fuel, including long-term storage;
- tests of diesel fuels with an additive showed that SIBERIA® is not inferior in quality to foreign analogues.
There are three main areas of use of 2-EHN SIBERIA®:
- middle distillates with a narrow fractional composition and distillation temperature indicators: DТ (90–20%) from 70 to 100 ° С; DТ (end boiling - 90%) from 17 to 25 ° С;
- wide fractions of distillates with a DТ value (90–20%) from 100 to 120 ° С and a boiling point below 380 ° С (distillation by the ASTM D86 method);
- high-boiling distillates with a boiling point above 380 ° C.
The introduction of the SIBERIA® additive makes it easier to increase the cetane number, reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere, and at the same time fully comply with modern requirements for diesel fuel.
